LOVECRAFTIAN HORROR
H.P. Lovecraft is a 20th century horror writer. He created the character "Cthulhu", along with a bunch of other cosmic horros. His stories were not about gore or anything like that, but rather cosmic horrors and the unknown, and how humans and the planet Earth is insignificant compared to the creatures beyond the stars. Cthulhu first appeared in the story "Call of Cthulhu". The main character was a relative of a scientist. The scientist was discovering dark secrets no man should know, and was soon assassinated by cultists. It describes the cult as being there "forever". The ancient, immortal leaders live in China. There are sects of the cult in the swamps of Louisiana, Africa, etc. Cthulhu himself was a giant humanoid, as big as a mountain. He had an octopus head, wings of a dragon, etc. He lived in the underwater city of R'lyeh, and was said to be released "when the stars were righ".
